Full-Time, Grant-Funded Position
(From the present until October 2026)
Minimum Qualifications:
· Associate Degree in Aviation Maintenance Technology or related field
· FAA Mechanic Certificate with both Airframe and Powerplant ratings
· Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the aircraft maintenance industry and/or exercising the privileges of both the Airframe and Powerplant mechanic certificate ratings
· A minimum of 3 years’ experience in delivering instruction/training related to the aviation maintenance industry
· Experience working with minority, low-income students
· Excellent communication skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Low-income, first-generation in college, and/or minority background preferred
Responsibilities: The Aviation Maintenance Specialist/Instructor will oversee project development work and serve as a new program instructor for project pilots. Collaboration will take place with program faculty and college staff to assist in leading the renovation to create a new Aviation Maintenance Lab. The work of the Aviation Maintenance Specialist/Instructor will also lead to a 2-5 year expansion of a program that includes tracking completion of program certificate and degree options. In addition, this position will help ASU Mid-South to develop and pilot seven hybrid Aviation Maintenance course that will expand the reach of the program.
Salary: Commensurate with credentials and experience, with full college benefits.
