Healthy Families America (HFA) Home Visitor

This is a full-time, 12-month, grant-funded position with full college benefits. The Healthy Families America (HFA) Home Visitor/Family Support Worker is responsible for providing HFA services in a home-based model. The HFA Home Visitor will report to the Home Visiting Services Coordinator.
NOTE: Travel is required for this position.

Job Responsibilities
• Identifies and recruits families most in need of Home Visiting services.
• Works closely with the Home Visiting Services Coordinator to identify and serve eligible families.
• Ensures family eligibility requirements are met according to individual grant funder’s requirements.
• Assists in new families’ screening and orientation activities.
• Assists in screening and preparation of children and parents to enable families to fully participate in program services and activities.
• Assists families in developing goals and works with families in order to meet those goals.
• Administers assessments required by program grant funders.
• Provides and monitors services to families in order to maintain Model Fidelity.
• Drives to family homes and delivers home-based activities and curriculum that enhance social/emotional, physical and intellectual development while delivering education and support.
• Providing transportation when necessary (i.e. medical appointments) and with Coordinator approval.
• Makes referrals to other community resources as appropriate.
• Acts as advocate or liaison between families and other community agencies.
• Prepares for and plans for individual home visits using approved evidence based curriculum.
• Meets with Coordinator weekly per HFA standard.
• Attends Team Meetings.
• Works with Coordinator and HFA Team members to prepare for and complete accreditation activities and documentation.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in human services or education field, as well as some specialized training in child development or in parent education (i.e. Parents as Teachers certification)
• Experience in early childhood, education, child development, social work or other related social science
• Ability to support HFA mission and follow policies and procedures
• Ability to work in client homes in a variety of conditions

Proposed Salary
Beginning annual salary of $30,750 with full college benefits. ASU Mid-South offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes retirement; health, life, dental, and disability insurance; a flex benefits plan; and Arkansas State University System tuition waivers for both the employee and qualifying dependents.

Mandated Reporter
All HFA employees are mandated reporters of child abuse and neglect. Failure to properly report to DCFS and the Coordinator can result in disciplinary actions up to and including termination.
