Immediate Supervisor:This position reports directly to the AVC for Technology and Research
General Description:This is a full-time position approved to work for up to 40 hours/week on the ASU Mid-South Campus. The Database Analyst will support the college’s data governance functions. This position requires a combination of technical skills, effective communication, and analytical problem-solving.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure effective coordination of data across campus resources (ex. Banner, Canvas, Starfish, Element451, Constituo).
Assist in the preparation of regular data reports for the Arkansas Department of Education, ASU System, and other external stakeholders.
Support the development, maintenance, and improvement of internal data reporting processes.
Serve on committees and workgroups supporting data governance, security, and establishment of best practices.
Analyze institutional data in order to provide insights and create visualizations in support of department projects and other requests.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with broad audiences to support technical projects related to information management, data analysis, and information systems. Familiarity with common approaches to data security, analysis, and data visualization tools. Experience querying and managing databases, particularly SQL databases, preferred. Knowledge of or willingness to learn Microsoft Powershell, Python, and/or C# coding relevant to data analysis and process automation is a plus.
Qualifications: Associate degree or professionally recognized certifications in Information Systems Technology, Database Management, Data Science, or equivalent experience.
