We’re looking for a Creative Media Specialist who knows their way around a camera, can edit a video without making it look like a high school project, and understands that good design is more than just slapping text over an image. This role is for a true visual storyteller, someone who can bring ideas to life through photography, videography and graphic design.
This is a full-time position with full university benefits reporting to the Director of Marketing and Strategic Communications. Responsibilities:
Capture and edit high-quality photography and video for marketing, social media and promotional use.
Design compelling graphics for digital and print materials—without relying on cookie-cutter templates.
Manage and update website graphical elements to keep visuals fresh, cohesive and on brand.
Work closely with the Communications Specialist to turn words into engaging visual narratives.
Stay ahead of design and media trends to keep our brand looking fresh.
Be available to work some nights and weekends to capture stories and events happening after hours.
Capabilities and Attributes being sought include:
A portfolio that proves you know what you’re doing—show us your best photography, video work and design pieces
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, InDesign etc.)
A knack for capturing the moment—whether through a lens or a well-placed graphic element
The ability to juggle multiple projects without missing deadlines (or your sanity)
Basic web editing skills (WordPress preferred)
Bonus Points If You:
Can fly a drone (legally)
Have experience with motion graphics or animation
Know how to shoot and edit video that keeps people watching
Have an eye for branding and storytelling that goes beyond “just making it look nice”
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, media production, digital communications or a related field
At least two years of professional experience in multimedia production, visual storytelling, or graphic design
A combination of education and experience may be considered
Starting Salary: $45,000, Dependent upon credentials and experience. Competitive benefits package available including retirement; health, life, dental & disability insurance; a flex benefit plan; and educational discounts for employees and family.
