STUDENT TYPES

FIRST TIME ENTERING STUDENT
A FIRST TIME ENTERING STUDENT is a graduating high school senior or an adult enrolling in college for the first time.

APPLICATION: ASU Mid-South Admissions
REQUIRED:
  • Official High School Transcript or GED Scores
    • Current high school seniors may be admitted with a 7-semester transcript. An official final transcript showing proof of graduation is required before the start of the student’s term.
  • Official Transcripts From Any Previously Attended Colleges, Universities, or Technical Schools
    • High School students who earned concurrent credit must also request their official college transcripts showing final grades be sent directly to Admissions.
  • College Level Placement Scores (i.e., ACT, Accuplacer, or SAT)
    • If you don’t have these scores, you can take the Accuplacer exam through our on-campus Testing Center. Visit the Testing Center for more details.
  • Immunization Records for (2) MMR Vaccinations (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella)
  • Selective Service Registration (for all male students ages 18-25)

High school/GED transcripts, test scores, and immunization records may be uploaded in the application, emailed, or submitted in person to the Admissions Office.

TRANSFER STUDENTS AND COLLEGE GRADUATES
TRANSFER STUDENTS have previously attended another college or university and plan to earn a degree at ASU Mid-South.
 
COLLEGE GRADUATES have earned a bachelor’s degree or higher and plan to pursue a degree at ASU Mid-South.

APPLICATION: ASU Mid-South Admissions
REQUIRED:
  • Official High School Transcript or GED Scores
    • Current high school seniors may be admitted with a 7-semester transcript. An official final transcript showing proof of graduation is required before the start of the student’s term.
  • Official Transcripts From Any Previously Attended Colleges, Universities, or Technical Schools
    • Transcripts must be sent directly from the school or college to the ASU Mid-South Admissions Office, or delivered in a sealed envelope, to be considered official.
  • College Level Placement Scores (i.e., ACT, Accuplacer, or SAT)
    • Students who have completed college-level English and Math at another college or university do not need to submit placement scores for admission.
  • Immunization Records for (2) MMR Vaccinations (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella)
  • Selective Service Registration (for all male students ages 18-25)

CLOSED COLLEGE REQUESTS

If you previously attended a college or school that has since closed, please contact the State Department of Education in the state where the institution was located for assistance.

READMIT STUDENT
A READMIT STUDENT is someone who previously attended ASU Mid-South and has not attended another college since.

APPLICATION: ASU Mid-South Admissions

Students who have not attended another college since leaving ASU Mid-South only need to submit a new application and may qualify for returning admission if their documents are still on file.

Any enrollment in a college, university, or technical school after you’ve attended ASU Mid-South may require a transcript or Letter of Non-Attendance.

NON-DEGREE SEEKING OR VISITING STUDENT
A NON-DEGREE SEEKING student does not plan to earn a degree at ASU Mid-South.
 
A VISITING STUDENT is not seeking a degree and plans to transfer credits to another college or university.

APPLICATION: ASU Mid-South Admissions
REQUIRED:
  • No admission documents are required, except for Selective Service Registration (for all male students ages 18-25)

Students enrolling at ASU Mid-South as visiting or non-degree-seeking students must submit an application and select the appropriate application type.

Non Degree Seeking /Visiting students are not eligible to participate in financial aid programs.

CONCURRENT STUDENT
A CONCURRENT STUDENT is currently in high school and plans to take college courses before graduation.

APPLICATION: Concurrent Application
REQUIRED:
  • Unofficial High School Transcript or GED Scores
  • College Level Placement Scores (i.e., ACT, Accuplacer, or SAT)
    • Concurrent students must meet placement score or GPA requirements set by the college.
  • Immunization Records for (2) MMR Vaccinations (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella)
  • Selective Service Registration (for all male students ages 18-25)
INTERNATIONAL STUDENT F-1
An INTERNATIONAL STUDENT (F-1) holds an F-1 visa, plans to study full time and requires an I-20 to enroll.

APPLICATION: International Student (F-1) Application
REQUIRED:
  • I-901 Processing Fee
  • Supplemental Application
  • Passport and/or F-1 Visa
  • Proof of Continuous Health Insurance
  • Authenticated High School Record (must be in English)
  • Proof of English Proficiency by one or more of the following:
    • A score of 61 or higher on the TOEFL Internet-based version; a score of 6.0 or higher on the IELTS.
    • A score of 95 or higher on the DuoLingo English (DET) exam.
    • A grade of “C” or better in two standard English composition courses at a regionally accredited institution of higher education in the United States.
  • Bank Letter
    • Letter of certification from reputable financial institution stating funds of at least $20,000 (no more than 6 months old)
  • Test Scores – ACT/Accuplacer/SAT
  • Immunization Records for (2) MMR Vaccinations (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella)
  • Tuberculosis Screening
    • (No more than 6 months from time of arrival in the US)
  • Official Transcript from All Previously Attended Colleges, Universities, or Technical Schools

All documents can be uploaded directly into the application, submitted by email or in person to the Admissions Office.
