Title III Predominantly Black Institutions (PBI) Grant
Full-Time, Grant-Funded Position through September 2020

· Master’s degree in Counseling, Student Services, or related field with at least 3 years’ experience with higher education advising and counseling responsibilities, with low-income, minority, and disadvantaged students.
· Must have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft applications including word-processing, spreadsheets, and email and excellent oral and written communications skills.
· Must be able to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff, have a demonstrated ability to collect, organize, and analyze data.
· Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience managing a caseload of students and using Individual Academic Plans (IAPs) for students.
Responsibilities: The Success Coach will report to the grant director which will lead the redevelopment of academic and career advising to better meet student needs and pilot intrusive developmental advising strategies. Success Coaches have the primary responsibility for building, maintaining, and monitoring a caseload of approximately 60 advisees from the grant’s male mentoring initiative and target program areas. Success Coach will also participate in developing advising materials for faculty; training other college advisors in effectively advising underprepared, minority, and low income students; and monitoring the creation and use of Individual Academic Plans (IAPs) to guide more effective advisement of individual students. Success Coach must keep accurate and timely records of grant activities to demonstrate progress in meeting grant objectives. Some evening and weekend hours may be required.
Salary: $35,000 depending upon credentials and experience, with full college benefits.
