Job Summary: This a full-time, 40 hour per week grant-funded position. The Student Advisor provides or makes provisions for support to students enrolled in CPI programs. Support services include testing, advising, career assessment, orientation programs and counseling. The Student Advisor will collaborate with campus personnel to provide this service to students. The position may require overnight stay for conferences or training and evening hours during special events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include serving as the student support system contact, student advisor, and tracks student progress. Develops plans for mandatory CPI student orientation, and organizes the orientation session. Counsels students concerning academic, career, social and personal needs, inform students with special needs of campus services and assists students in assessing career interests. Conducts personal and/or group advising sessions, coordinates workshops and speakers for students, performs crisis intervention, recommends action based on evaluation and refers students to mental health, social or professional counseling services. Conducts community outreach on behalf of program. Keeps abreast of student advising trends, develops new counseling strategies, and attends conferences for professional development. Collaborates with other personnel who serve as Academic Coaches for student support services. Serves on college committees. Other duties may be assigned.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with five years related experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Campus experience preferred.

Salary: Annual salary is $35,000 with a full benefits package including health, dental, vision, and life insurance as well as a retirement plan. This position is grant funded and continued employment is contingent upon continued grant funding.
