Arkansas State University Mid-South currently has a part time position available for an IT Support Specialist. This position is governed by state and federal laws. The successful applicant will report to ASU Mid-South’s Associate Vice Chancellor for Information Technology.
The IT Support Specialist is responsible for setup and configures PCs and Printers across campus.
The IT Support Specialist will setup, configure, connect to our network, and test PCs and printers in classrooms and campus offices.
In addition, communicates issues between departments and IT to resolve problems in a timely manner and keep all staff informed of situations and work with users to resolve problems and recommend changes or updates.
- Unbox new hardware
- Install Operating System
- Setup computer on user desk
- Connect PC/Printer to our network
- Troubleshoot connectivity
- Report any issues to Support
Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
Knowledge and use of microcomputer hardware and software, computer networking.
The formal education completion of technical training in Computer Science, Data Processing, or a related field acquired from a vocational, military, or industrial setting. A compelling combination of education, work experience, and/or professional certifications may be considered.
Projected Start Date: August 2, 2021. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until position is filled.
Salary: This is part-time position, 20 hours a week payable at $11.00 per hour.
