The Medical Assistant Program introduces you to the overall operation of a physicians’ office and trains you to assist in the examination room, to perform routine laboratory procedures, and to handle financial records, correspondence, insurance forms and other administrative functions.
When you successfully complete ASU Mid-South’s Medical Assisting program, you will be qualified to work in doctors’ offices, clinics, public and private hospitals, and inpatient and out-patient facilities. Upon successful completion of this program, students earn an associate of applied science degree and are prepared to sit for the Medical Assistant exam.
