Responsibilities: Reports to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Learning and Instruction with responsibility for instruction, curriculum development, assessment of student learning, and oversight of laboratory supplies and equipment. Preference given to candidates who can also teach physical science, who understand active learning and divergent learning styles, and who can develop computer and/or video learning modules to support classroom instruction. Work assignments may include evening and/or weekend hours.
Qualifications: Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in the discipline; previous teaching experience, preferably at a community college; evidence of ongoing commitment to improve teaching and student learning; evidence of the ability to work effectively to meet the educational needs of a diverse student body; good communication skills; and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
